of the Vorlons and the people influenced by them
|
A most enigmatic entity, he is rarely seen and even more seldomly heard. And even if one should
be lucky enough to hear that almost musical rasping emenating from his encounter suit, the
meaning of his words; are most likely even more puzzling.
As acting ambassador to the Vorlon at Babylon 5, Kosh arrives shortly after the station goes online.
Even as he sets his foot upon the deck for the first time, Kosh is involved in the first incident
on the station.
He is poisoned and only recovers after some time spent in isolation in MedLab. This is the point
where Lyta Alexander was able to scan him, although she never revelaed an iota of what she saw
or felt to anyone.
For three years Kosh is present on Babylon 5, revelaing in never lessening confusing utterances the
history of the Vorlon and Shadow species, and their concurrent wars.
As representative of the Vorlon, he is indirectly one of the main reasons for the inception
of the Army of Light. When the gloves came of, and Shadow vessels clashed openly with the Army
of Light, he is pursuaded by Sheridan that the Vorlons must join their allies in open warfare.
As a consequence he is murdered the very night the first Vorlon ships join the throng of
defenders by his Shadow adversaries.

"We are all Kosh" was the answer when questioned as to his name upon his arrival to Babylon 5.
This instance of Kosh would take up where his pedecessor left off, the previous Kosh being
killed by his enemies in retaliation for providing open support to the lesser races.
It is clear that this Kosh is a more reticent and cold individual, if individualism even exists
among the Vorlons. Until the end of the Shadow War, Kosh will act as Vorlon ambassador and liason to
Babylon 5, or more precisely, the Army of Light, since that is their primary interest.
Once the war is over, he, along with the rest of the two elder races, disappears from the face of
this galaxy, going the way of all previous elder races, and disappearing beyond the rim of the
galaxy.

Lyta was the first posted telepath to Babylon 5. Babylon 5, being an EA facility, qualifies for a
P5 telepath posting.
She is the only human to ever see and scan a Vorlon being. Immediatly following this encounter,
she is transfered to Earth, surely with intent to gain access to her singular knowledge and
experience.
She is not heard of for a while, but breaks with the Psi Corps, forcing her to flee from their grasp.
On her flight from captivity she passes through Babylon 5 on her way to Vorlon space.
Once more she disappears for some time, only to set another precedent, namely to be the only human
to return from Vorlon space alive. It appears the Vorlons not only refrained from attacking her,
but embraced her wholeheartedly.
She is a key to the discovery that telepathic powers are a mere utility, a weapon of war in the struggle
of Vorlon against Shadow. Her abilities have grown in orders of magnitude, intended as a final
doomsayer in this war.
After the war is won, her life has lost focus, but she finds another cause that fills her large and
compassionate heart, the wellbeing of the now orphaned telepaths of all races.

Anna Sheridan, Sheridans second wife, is the second crew member of the lost Icarus to
return to human space.
She is the final demostration and effort by the Shadows, who control her completely, causing
Sheridan to leave on his final voyage to Z'Ha'Dhum.
Opposed to being the agent of destruction of the Army of Light, she more aptly bings about
the destruction of the main city on Z'Ha'Dhum, by allowing Sheridan to home a quartet of
fusion devices on his position when he is brought before the Shadows.

known First Ones

Perhaps not 'the' First One, Lorien is among the oldest entities in the universe. To him even the
elder races of Vorlon and Shadow are young.
He has been observing the development of entrenched hatred for millenia. When Sheridan arrives at
Z'Ha'Dhum, he saves his life and deeds him a further 20 years of sutained life.
His wisdom and patience act as guide and leading thought to the development at first of the Army Of
Light, then the Interstellar Alliance.
While not cryptic as a Vorlon nor insubstantial like a Shadow, Lorien nevertheless manages to keep
a healthy distance to most humans, and interatcs mostly with the few who know of his exitence.
It is in part due to his support of Sheridan and his crew, that the Shadows and Vorlon give up
their dug in positions, and go beyond the veil, following the other elder races which have vanished
from the galaxy over the eons.
When his 20 years of life give out, Lorien is there to meet Sheridan in his last moments, and lead
him into depths unkown.
